The opening of Harland’s facility in Alajuela marked its first expansion into Central America, and at the time the fourth facility around the world for the company.
Upon beginning operations, Harland became the first company to offer hydrophilic coatings to Costa Rica’s MedTech companies. The facility specializes in coating services and supports local customers at every stage of the coating process.
Costa Rica has quickly become one of the top destinations for medical device manufacturers. The region features offices and production facilities for many of the biggest cardiovascular manufacturers, along with a highly skilled workforce which has embraced the rapidly growing MedTech cluster. Harland was eager to join in on the trend while providing services and support that no other company in the country provided.
